Attention: WAMU Credit Card Customers

Starting Wednesday, March 4, you won't be able to go online and access your credit card account for five days.

Chase is moving all WaMu credit card accounts to its Web site and during the transition, you won't be able to check your balance or make an online payment.

So, if you need to schedule an electronic payment in the next few days, you'd better do it before Wednesday.

Your credit cards will not be affected by any of this. Only online banking will go dark from Wednesday through Sunday. The blackout will not affect online access of WaMu checking or savings accounts.

Free Denny's Grand Slam Breakfast

You may have noticed in yesterday's Superbowl that there were some commercials taking potshots at IHOP. Fortunately, Denny's is going to do more than just talk big. Tomorrow, from 6am to 2pm, customers can enjoy a free Grand Slam breakfast. This will apply to restaurants in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico, with the exception of *350 Baker Blvd., Baker, CA and 740 S. Main St., Las Cruces, NM.

Free Cosmetics At Macy's and Nordstrom's

Nordstroms and Macy's are expected to distribute $175 million worth of freebies to settle a lawsuit that accused them of conspiring with cosmetics companies to fix prices.

The settlement allows consumers who bought certain cosmetics between May 29, 1994, and July 16, 2003, to receive one free product on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. The freebies will be available for up to seven days from January 20. Returns or exchanges are prohibited.

Other stores named in the class-action suit include Gottschalks, Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. High-end cosmetics brands such as Chanel, Estee Lauder and L'Oreal USA also were named as defendants. All have denied wrongdoing.

The first link is to Amazon's Lighting Deal, where a popular item is on sale for a good price. Yesterday's deal, for example, was a pre-order of Disney's High School Musical 3 on DVD and Blu-Ray. The second item is a direct link to Amazon through the use of a search box. If you see information about an item, just search in the box and you will be taken directly to Amazon.com.
